Summer Session 2:  July 9-August 11 (The same clinics and times offered during the Summer Session I apply to Summer Session 2)

Full Summer Session:  June 7 – August 7 (see schedule on next page)

 

Summer I and Summer 2 Schedules:

May 21- June 30th  (5 Weeks clinics) Please note that clinics indicating two start dates change time on the second time the clinic meets. This is being done to allow the school schedule to finish and to be able to offer the clinic at a cooler temperature for the children.

Big Hitters 1 -Introduces and reinforces proper grips, stroke production, tennis rules, and helps children gain a love for the game

Big Hitters 2 – Players must have basic understanding and ability to hit forehands, backhands and serves. 

Big Hitter Competition/games – Will use actual games that lead to preparing students to be able to play competitive in USTA 10 and under tournaments.

Make ups will be done on weekends unless otherwise agreed by coach Al and clinic participants.

Adult Work Hard/Play Hard (WH/PH):  Designed for those tennis enthusiasts who are wanting a tennis routine to get you in shape.  This clinic will incorporate tennis drills that are fast-paced and fun!


REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

 

Complete registration requires the following in an envelope marked “tennis lessons with Al Herrera” handed in to the

Property Manager’s office at the clubhouse (you can put them under the door as well):

  1. completed Registration Form
  2. signed Liability Waiver required by the Home Owners Association –  McKay’s MIll waiver of liability
  3. a check written out to “Al Herrera” for the sessions desired.

Please note that if the minimum required to hold a lesson is not met, Al will contact you directly to discuss your options.

Inclement Weather Policy:

If weather seems questionable, please call Al’s cell phone 30 minutes before your scheduled lesson to listen to the message – if the message does not indicate otherwise, then lessons are still being held.  (615) 785-6045

Professional bios for the Tennis Coaches

Al Herrera, USPTA Professional
Primary Pro for McKay’s Mill Al Herrera has been teaching tennis for over 20 years. Al currently coaches NALTA teams from Williamson and Rutherford counties. Al also provides private and group lessons to both juniors and adults. Al has coached highly ranked juniors who have received tennis scholarship offers to colleges and universities As a youth, Al played competitive junior tennis and received a tennis scholarship to play at Murray State University.

Brad Herrera, USPTA Tennis Professional
Assistant Pro for McKay’s Mill Brad has been a tennis pro with Williamson County Parks & Recreation, Seven Hills Swim and Tennis Club in Nashville, The Racquet Club of Murfreesboro, Sequoia Swim and Tennis Club in Nashville, among others. Brad is currently coaching the Ravenwood High School boys and girls tennis teams. Brad also offers clinics for children and adults, and coaches NALTA and USTA teams throughout the Nashville area. As a kid, Brad was a nationally ranked junior. He competed on the Junior Davis Cup Tennis Team and was ranked as high as top 50 in the nation in doubles. Brad received a full tennis scholarship to play at Eastern Kentucky University where he played #1 doubles and #1 singles all 4 years. Brad also received the distinguished “Male Athlete of the Year” at Eastern Kentucky University his senior year.
